Associate Professor Jeremiah Deng

Jeremiah Deng is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Science, University of Otago.

 Dr Deng is interested in the theory and application of machine learning and pattern recognition and has published more than 120 research papers in related areas. He has been the founder and co-chairs of the Machine Learning for Sensory Data Analysis Workshop, and served as editorial board members to Pattern Analysis and Applications (Springer) and ICT Express (Elsevier), and in various roles to leading Artificial Intelligence conferences such as AAAI, IJCAI and PAKDD.

Dr Deng’s current research focuses on using machine learning techniques to find useful features and biomarkers from EEG and fMRI signals and build powerful diagnosis or monitoring tools for neuropathological conditions such as depression, pain, and tinnitus.
